SLEE PL WITHERS: Named after a well known solicitor and originator of the still practising firm Slee, Anderson & Pidgeon. He was a founding member of the Bunbury Rowing Club, and was a distinguished rifle shooter as a secondary school student winning the highest award in W.A. Reserve Register Approval 31/7/1986 page 695 corres 323/44V5.
SLOAN CT WITHERS: James Sloan, Councillor November 1894 – January 1898.Reserve Register approval 7/12/1992 in File 323/1944 V6 P868.
STALLARD PL WITHERS: John Stallard, a general labourer, arrived in Australind with his wife Anna on the Parkfield in 1841. Their son John, born on 28 May 1841, was the first white child born in Australind. (COB). Origin supplied by Cecily Brown of Bunbury Historical Society).
SULPHUR ST WITHERS: This street was named after the ship H.M.S. Sulphur which was used extensively by Dr. Collie and Lt. William Preston during their exploration of the Leschenault Inlet area in 1829.
SWEETING WY WITHERS: Engine driver, Bunbury Rail Depot.
WAKEFIELD AV WITHERS: The Australind settlement was based on ideas developed by Edward Gibbon Wakefield, who was also a director of the Western Australian Company in 1840.(Origin supplied by Cecily Brown, Bunbury Historical Society). FIRST APP 1436/69 170671

WILKERSON WY WITHERS: Former Councillor. First approved 27th May 1971 in File 1436/69.Following an enquiry from the City of Bunbury in November 1995 it was found that “Wilkerson Way” is shown on the Survey Index Plan, the Public Plan, Approvals of 27/5/1971 & 27/5/1981 and Gazettal of 7/8/1981 page 3217 (MiscPlan 1123)
WRIGHT ST WITHERS: The Samuel Wright, and American whaler of 372 tons under the command of Captain Coffin, was wrecked in a storm in July 1840. The location of the wreck has been found under the carpark next to the Mangrove Walk.(also see Samuel Wright Street). (Origin supplied by Cecily Brown, Bunbury Historical Society).
